The School has always been adhering to the concept of maintaining and ensuring the basic and central position of undergraduate teaching. In the light of this, it has further carried out and deepened credit system reform and has gradually established and improved research-oriented undergraduate teaching system. With technological strength, the School vigorously implements research program training for college students, encourages students to engage in associate work in their teachers’ research projects and promotes inquiry teaching and research-study reform. The School has endeavored to upgrade talent education through internationalized education by establishing substantial cooperative relations with world-renowned universities such as Connecticut University, University of Washington, New York State University, University of Ottawa, University of Birmingham, Loughborough University, and so on. The Schoolhas signed “3+1”and “3+2” joint-education agreements with over 10 overseas universities to proactively explore new approaches fortalent education. It also has adopted a series of special measures to facilitate talent education. By implementing the excellent engineer training program, honorary head teacher system, student instructor initiative, holding innovative experiment plan, academic contest and practice as well as international course week, the School makes every effort to engage in undergraduate teaching reform. In recent years, the School has won 3 national teaching achievement awards and 4 Sichuan provincial teaching achievement awards, set up 1 provincial-level choice course and has 1 teacher awarded as Sichuan provincial pacemaker for teacher’s ethics.
