On March 5th, a delegation from the University of Southampton, led by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Phillip Wright, visited our school. Mr.Tim Standbrook, the Deputy Consul General of the British Consulate General in Chongqing, accompanied the delegation. Vice Dean Niu Dawen of our school received the guests in Meeting Room 235. Representatives of young faculty members from our school also participated in the meeting.

Vice Dean Niu Dawen extended a warm welcome to Prof. Phillip Wright and his delegation, as well as Mr.Tim Standbrook. He briefly introduced the basic situation and disciplinary characteristics of our school, expressing his expectation that under the guidance of SCU, the school would deepen cooperation and promote cultural exchanges between China and other countries through further interactions.
Prof. Phillip Wright expressed his gratitude for the invitation and hoped that the two universities could deepen and expand their areas of cooperation in the future, launching a variety of talent cultivation programs and academic activities.
Mr.Tim Standbrook mentioned in his speech that he hoped our school, under the leadership of the two universities, could leverage its professional strengths to make contributions to cross-cultural exchanges and scientific research practices.

After the meeting, Prof. Phillip Wright and his delegation toured the laboratory of Membrane Science and Functional Materials Group (led by Prof. Liang-Yin Chu), with Prof. Wei Wang as the guide.
